What you pay, and how we get paid.
There is no cost if you provide a copy of your insurance estimate.
Without one, if you order measurements from us, you pay as little as $22.63 up front for professional measurements that contractors use to bid. The report is yours to keep.
If you sign a contract with a contractor through the platform and that job is completed, the full amount is rebated to your original payment method. Rebates are typically issued within a few business days of completion and may take another 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
The fee is not rebated if you do not hire through the platform, if the project is cancelled before completion, or if the report was ordered without an account. Section 8.5 of our Terms has the full conditions.
Contractors pay Otter Quotes a fee, currently 5%, on the bid you accept.
There is no obligation to hire. If something does not work out before work begins, you can switch to another Otter Quotes contractor at no cost, up to 3 days before your start date. A contract you sign is between you and the contractor, and that contract explains your cancellation rights.
